Passing your driving test is just the beginning of your driving journey. The Pass Plus course is designed to help newly qualified drivers gain extra confidence and experience in real-world situations that aren’t always covered during standard driving lessons.

At Pro Drivers Academy in Chingford, we offer Pass Plus training to give you the skills you need to become a safer, more confident driver — and in many cases, to save money on your insurance.

What Is Pass Plus?

Pass Plus is a government-backed training scheme aimed at drivers who have already passed their driving test. It’s not an exam — instead, it’s a practical training course of around 6 hours (usually split into 3 sessions).

During the course, you’ll be assessed continuously by your instructor, focusing on building your confidence and ability across a variety of driving situations. Once completed, both you and your instructor sign a training report form, which is sent to the DVSA. The DVSA will then issue your official Pass Plus certificate.

Who Is Pass Plus For?

Pass Plus is suitable for any qualified driver, but it’s especially useful if you:

• Have recently passed your test and want to build extra
• Feel nervous about driving on motorways, at night, or in bad
• Want to gain more experience in different environments

What Does Pass Plus Cover?

The course is structured around six key modules, designed to broaden your driving experience:

1. Driving in town – dealing with busier traffic, pedestrians, and complex
2. All-weather driving – learning how to stay safe in rain, snow, ice, fog, and bright sunlight.
3. Rural roads – handling bends, narrow lanes, and limited
4. Night driving – improving awareness and judgement in the
5. Dual carriageways – building confidence in overtaking and higher-speed
6. Motorway driving – safe lane discipline, joining/exiting at speed, and long- distance driving.

Not all weather conditions can be guaranteed during training, but your instructor will explain how to adapt your driving for these situations.
